The Bet is Never on the Number.

Don’t over-rely on quantification.

Yes, decisions seem rational.
But they’re anything but.

Even when you’re buying a pair of trousers at 70% off,
It’s not the size of the discount that gets you.
It’s the thrill of beating the system.
“Mujhe toh sasta mila.”
That’s not maths. That’s emotion.

And yet—
Every LinkedIn post, every expo banner, every pitch deck shouts savings, reduction, ROI— 37%, 62%, 394%
Very precise. Very scientific. Very anchoring.

But think about it.
When was the last time you approved a capex just because of a percentage?

You didn’t buy the promise of a 47% improvement.
You bought the confidence of the person who said it.

You didn’t say yes to the numbers.
You said yes to the person.

Because numbers may bring the lead—
But trust brings the signature.

The real bet?
It’s not on the 37%.
It’s on the person who had the guts to say it, and the heart to stand by it.

So, next time you pitch, remember—
Numbers alone won’t sell.
Be the reason they believe in them.

Aam khilao, guthaliya mat ginao 😉
