The Monthly Special on marketing communication

Transactions! The Tedious Part.

Donor’sChoose is a simple business concept.
It connects the high school teachers in America who need funds for their educational projects to donors.
That is not exciting. Here is the exciting part:
On the Valentine’s day of 2015, Mr. Porter was screening through his mailbox.
The usual chore was to clean up all the bugging newsletters, that really didn’t matter.
And bang he saw a newsletter from Donor’sChoose which said:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Give to a teacher
With the same name as you.

Just before pressing the DELETE key, he read that they had a teacher named Ms. Porter who was in need of funds.
Now, for Mr. Porter it wasn’t about donating on an online platform. It was about building a connection which mattered.
Donor’sChoose (DC) had transformed transactions into connections.

Silly? Not exactly!
Not only did the donations to Donor’sChoose spike but also people were touched by this personalised effort and took to social media to promote DC’s cause.

It is easy to riddle your customers with processes, transactions and numerous formalities.
What is difficult is knowing & remembering that ultimately your customers are humans.

They cherish connections more than transactions!

Sounds all westernised hullabaloo?
We converted a transaction into connection here in India, in the state of Maharashtra, for one of our clients!.

Reply to this mail & we shall share what we did to instill life and meaning into a mundane process.
