Embrace Me Or Else...

Embrace Me Or Else…

Walking alongside the river on the cold night was a septuagenarian.

The security guards who had accompanied him stood at a distance gazing at his frail and tall figure, lit up by the light, bathing him in the calmness of the river.

Suddenly the guard heard the man’s voice calling upon him. He rushed towards his boss.
The boss pointed at something floating in the river and said:
“Can you please take a photograph of that thing? I shall brief my secretary tomorrow on what can be done to keep this river clean”

The security guard was moved not only because this was a man who had come here to bath in the memories of his dead wife and was still able to spot the litter.

The security guard was moved and filled with respect not only because this man was well above seventy five years of age and was here from the hospital where he was admitted because he had a chest infection and could still think of that small speck that was not supposed to be there.

The security guard was filled with respect and patriotism and moved to his core because standing in front of him was Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, the first prime minister of Singapore-A man who was obsessed about changing his country from a poor island state into a global technology & commerce center. Hence he could see the tiniest of the thing that stood between him and his picture perfect Singapore

Change is an amazing phenomenon. It is like that lover who wants you to embrace it there and then.
It promises you a lot of opportunity but asks you to make the move. Now or Never. Rather to be on the move with a single agenda of making things a ‘little’ better. Everything, everytime.

You may well burrow deep inside your comfort zones saying that change is demanding, but change makers like Mr. Lee not only embrace the opportunity it offers but also marry it to their country’s glorious future.

After reading this you shall either see the things same as they were before or just change them to the way you always wanted them to be. Just a little better, just perfect!
